New Berserk Commercial 4 [Updated]

Sorry for being late this time, but like I said in the previous Twitter Translation post, today's commercial was going to be a compilation of the first three, with a different speech from GACKT. Here's the clip :

Thoughts and analysis :

「今、新たな歴史が刻まれる。」

Ｉｍａ，ａｒａｔａ　ｎａ　ｒｅｋｉｓｈｉ　ｇａ　ｋｉｚａｍａｒｅｒｕ．

This is the new speech from GACKT we got today and it pretty much means  : "Right now, a new history is about to be engraved". That "new history" he is talking about probably refer to a new version of the Berserk story compared to the one we had in 1997. It could also be a new history that differs from them manga, but I doubt it and honestly don't want to even think about it.

We also have a new caption like always : 「ベルセルクが、動き出す。」which would mean something like "Berserk, getting alive" or anything that means something is starting to get in motion (I prefer the sound of "getting alive" though). I don't think there's any reason left to have any doubt in the fact the anime is coming to the screen now. What kind of anime ? That's the big question I discussed in an earlier post. I think it would be safe to rule out the movie or single OVA possibilities. TV series or OVA series are still plausible ideas.

There's not much to discuss about the images we saw in that trailer as they were taken from the previously released video. Although I still hasn't been able to pin point where is the scene Guts charges with his sword is. The first reflex I had when I saw the scenery was to think it was from the Lost Children Arc, but if we take a look at the leaked picture from last year, which is 80% sure from the same scene, Guts didn't face similar opponents during that arc. And as far as I'm concerned, Berserk has its fair share of creepy forests. My other hypothesis for that is somewhere during the prologue of the story, just before the Golden Age Arc kicks in.


Update: Thanks to your comments, it looks like that scene is from the Chapter of the Binding Chain Arc (Conviction Chapter), just before Guts gets captured.

Now of you look at that scene in the manga and the commercial/leaked picture, both are taking action in a similar forest full of dead trees. Guts also founds him being surrounded by the Holy Iron Chain Knights at some point, just like the leaked picture.
But then, there are some non-matching facts : fist of all, like Anon mentioned here, the armor featured in the leaked pictures were very simple; not something a Holy Iron Chain Knight would wear. But those pictures dates back from one year and we now now it's a full CGI animated project. I don't know how advanced was the project a year ago, but when you're dealing with CG, details can sure be added up afterward since we're talking about CG models here. It makes sense to me that something we saw over a year ago isn't as detailed as we're expecting it to be when the project is officially launched.
There's also the fact that, in the manga, Guts is incredibly worn out at this part. Yet, he doesn't seems that badly hurt in the CM/leaked picture. Censorship ? Why censor Guts' injuries when he's slicing in two multiple men (and blood is there).

I don't think I'm ready yet to assume this part is from the Conviction Arc, but if it is, I'd be starting to see a light of hope for a long series, shall it be OVA (frequently released, mind you, not something Hellsing Ultimate-ish) or TV series.

Tomorrow we get a break from the commercial as this one is going to air again. We will get the final commercial, a web-exclusive one on the 5th (JST).
