Berserk Movie Trailer - Golden Age Part 1

I know I've been late on this, here it is, for you enjoyment if you haven't already seen it (which I doubt); a trailer for the first berserk movie :





Working 50h a week is truly a bitch by the way, but as soon as I get some free time of mine, which should be Monday, I'm going to write a wrap-up of everything that happened recently, including a few translations and all and answering a few questions I've seen in the comments.

    Some of that CG looked a bit dodgy but other parts were really good, are they doing a mix of CG and traditional animation?

    Why did they have to change the drawing style? I can't wait to see the film but I already loved the older TV series' style. It's much closer to the manga.

    Really, Aycan? That is awesome, I respect your opinion, and I too love the other series. To me, it was a masterpiece, and it is my favorite anime series of all time. When I see this trailer, I notice two things: 1. It is COMPLETELY different from the older TV series, and 2. I could not be more excited because of it, and I'll tell you why. No one's going to draw a picture the same, sing a song the same, they're going to put their personalized, signature work on this great series they love as much as we do. Studio 4'C's Batman episodes looked choppy, but that's their animation style, and what those episodes did was phenomenal when I analyze it (Bruce Wayne in Japan, 'Have I Got A Story For You'). One thing is the same, though. It IS Berserk, and we're going to have fun with it. People are gonna get chopped up, there's going to be demons, all the stuff that matters. Cheers.

    Am i the only one that is concerned about the fact that it looks like they are doing the same thing as the anime and chopping up the story. I really hope I am wrong because there was so much amazing stuff that they skipped in the anime to cut it short. Lets hope that they include everything. Warner Brothers involvement scares me quite a bit they better not get their politically correct fingers into this and censor the shit out of it....

    i saw skull knight, so they must be on the right track with the story.
    As long as it retains the full story i can live with a bit of censoring, and release a special uncut version later down the line when the OVA happens or something.
    I would say pucks gone again but then they wont be able to do the elfhelm arc.
    Any who the only films confimed are the golden age, and unlike the anime we wont see the black swordsman prelouge, so the detail is really going to follow with the OVA that hopefully follows.

    I don't know what you guys are talking about, the anime style looks very similar to the original, the only thing i'd be worried about is warner censoring it or dumbing it down. The gore and nudity is a must.

    Kind of disappointed to hear that Hirasawa won't be doing the music for this film. His work really set the atmosphere in the anime series, and it more than made up for the low budget animation.

    animenewsnetwork is not a very reliable source. From what I read on japanese BBS (with my limited knowledge in japanese language) his involvement is unconfirmed.

    I agree with all of the comments above, I hope the entirety of the story is there, the manga is soooo much more brutal than the anime... also, if they censor a bit I wont be too worried cause the manga, 90% of the time, has a lot more language/nudity but in the case of nudity, very simply, in every battle/slaughter scene in the manga your almost guaranteed to see some level of nudity like it or not.. that's like cutting half the story out being all of those gritty battle filled scenes... that would be sad.

    anyway, with the sheer size of this manga today I'm sure the budget is much more than they would have hoped for with the original.. I've been looking forward to this for too long.

    Hahahha if 50hours on week is a bitch then how is 84 hours + 8 hours (sunday at home) on week , and been paid for only 40h :D. I'm Construction Engineer , Project Manager , Org. Director on my Department (and yeah I'm also an anime-consoles-retro arcades fan).

    ^ I highly doubt we will see another trailer till a few months before release at the most. I have a feeling the anime will probably be delayed again, and i don't like the fact that Miura hired the guy who does the Idolm@ster anime as director because he is addicted to that POS. Anyways i hope it turns out to be really good, either way ill continue to read the manga.

    Speaking of manga anyone know when chapter 325 will be out? He went and took another extended break that lazy asshole.

    If you have been paying attention to @clara_de_porras' twitterfeed, you would notice that the recording has already taken place with some Japanese cast members already announced and the recording venue posted being Lyndhurst Hall. (See: http://www.airstudios.com/studios/lyndhurst-hall.aspx) As well as en entirely Japanese site launched and being updated with movie relevant information that has not been touched upon here.

    Great news on Hirasawa involvment.
    hope it's more than just the opening tune, as much as I love evangelion Hirasawa made the anime a big deal to me even thought I felt I lost my right testical when it finished, even more so when I read the manga and found it was planned to end early from the start.
    I bet g0rth will make a post when there is a sound to put with the names, looking forward to it :)))))

    I agree the CG looks bad, not because its CG but because its poorly animated. Hand drawn animation would have been much better and it fits the series more than CG, either way at least it looks like it will be as gory as it should be, i hope that it emulates the manga as much as possible. That is no cutting corners and cutting out the Tournament arc/ Wyald's Persuit Arc.

    Personally pretty disappointed, all the characters look super clean and "moe". The first song was nice (Hirasawa I assume), but the second song was total crap its like some bad Japanese R&B song. Doesn't fit at all. Oh well its better than nothing. Official release date seems to be Feb. 4 2012.

    Japanese version with Eng subs will probably won't be censor but can't say for Eng dub Warner version, if they do that for dub i would like to say that wtf why would they do something like that to the movie for god sake. who cares if there is nudity or gore those two things are what makes Berserk more of a real life situation the world isn't all happy and wonderful it's full of sadness and pain and i that's why it shouldn't be censored when it comes out in Eng dub

    I watched it just now. The story feels epic and the fightscenes are very well fleshed out. But then it starts with some ridiculous timeskips. Sadly they fucked up his whole emotional connection to the Hawks. It feels cramped like most manga/movie conversions. Not the worst kind, but like... you see Pipin twice the whole movie. Once he reaches Guts a beer and the other time hes eating at a fucking table. Same goes for the rest. That was a bit of a letdown.
    Im still confused, if I liked it or not. Because some of the scenes were just incredibly beautifully done and the fights were nothing less than awesome.

    How can you guys cheese it by watching it for free? If you are really a fan you should pay for it!

    Just bought and watched the dvd. At first I was a bit concerned with the cgi moments in the game, but once I got used to it I really enjoyed the movie. The fights are even better than in the anime series. Too bad they seem to follow the same stroy as the anime. I hope they would do a second series with more of the rest of the stry.
