Newtype Announcement

Just a simple post to share the scan of the announcement in Newtype. Higher resolution and some facts after the break.

And while I'm here, here's some main facts about the upcoming project : 

- It will begin as a series of movies, being referred as the "Berserk Saga" 
- The first movie will be released somewhere near June (half a year)

- The series will adapt the whole story. 

-  CGI will be the main animation method 

- The movie series might spawn an OVA/series in the future


Now about the scan, unfortunately, I'm not able to read anything as it is slightly too small for me to read; I can only say that "Kizuna" means "bonds" and that because of the background picture, it is safe to assume the first movie will be about the Golden Age (not that big of a deduction since we know they're doing the whole story). 
Though I am still wondering if they will do the entire Golden Age arc in one single movie; unless we get some 180min movie (which would be awesome, but still, the original anime spawned about 400 min of material... and since they're planning to make the project big, I doubt they will want to cut a lot of original content), they will have to cut it in two parts.

    Yeah i agree it would be way to epic to put it all in one movie. I really hope that they adapt everything, that is all the things that were left out in the original Anime like Silat and Wyald. Also i really want to see Guts origins as it was in the manga. As for the poster i really like the way the character look they are really doing a good job of keeping them true to the manga. I am really looking forward to June.

    I still can't believe they put Judeau all the way at the back >:( what is with that?! He's the best one there!

    The background and stylisation is pretty cool, but i think they skimped out a little on the flag, cause the rips round the bottom look a little too samey.

    I am not sure how they will end the first movie in a good place cause i thought they might have finished it at the eclipse, but there is so much material to cover i dont think they can do it. I just hope they stay close to the manga and make it badass :D am looking forward to see how they deal with Puck :)

    I won't bother translate everything, but with a quick glance at it, it seems they are simply writing about what is Berserk all about, and some character background.

    YESS im so excited this is really happening. Though i wish it was a new show, but berserk anything is always good. It's just a shame I had to stumble upon this underrated story, I guess it's more of a cult hit than mainstream. There's a lot the original series got right, especially the music, which i hope they either keep or borrow heavily from; and im looking forward to more from the comic making it into this one.

    My first post, so first of all thanks for providing all the great info. Now to the point:

    One positive thing about the fact it'll be in a movie format imo is that they won't have to censor the movies as much as if it were a tv-series. Plus i think berserk isn't that popular in mainstream and among younger audiences, so it should be closer to the manga in terms of visuals. Or at least I hope so...

    When I first found out about this I thought it was a joke, I mean the anime was canceled so long ago. Then I started doing some looking on my own and found this! I really can not wait. From what I've seen so far it looks to be promising. If the first movie is the Golden Age that will be awesome, not sure if they can fit it all in one movie though. If they get the original(japanese) voice actors from the anime as well I would most definitely be happy with that.

    It's so cool to find berserk junkies here! lol probably the best story ever told (and being told...damn Kentaro Miura and his deviant behaviour!)

    I guess this is the best news i've heard so far and man, to this day I keep daydreaming about Berserk and the twisted yet incredible love/gore/epic story it is!

    I wish they will make a trilogy with each movie 180 min long,like the lord of the ring,only for the first part of the story,until the eclipse.
    So I can hope for a live-action movie whith monster in CGI and costume well done the quality of latest american movies(like 300 et similia).For a preview with how the kushan can look like watch Ong Bak 2.

    So anyone know if anything new has happened with this movie. Haven't heard any news in months, gah damn you Kentaro Miura and your slow pacing. Absolutely love the mange/anime, really looking forward to this movie when ever the hell it decides to come out.

    Hello, I am a incredible Italian fa of Berserk and I seen the first film (The Golden Age) and the series of anime. But I had read that there are in program the new series and the new films. Somebody can tell me same information about this question ? Is very important for me, please !!!!!!!!!!!
